M- - Q f, ' ' ' X.. . CONCERT CHOIR - juniors and Seniors make up the Concert Choir at Campus. They prac- tice and work hard everyday. BAND - Leissa Youngers, sophomore, practices marching and playing at the same time. Students march at home foot- ball games in the fall. Band, Orchestra, Vocal Music Win Honors At State The purpose of each of the dif- ferent types of Bands at Campus High School is to provide an or- ganization for students to learn how to develop their musical abil- ity. Sigmund Leiker is the director of Symphonic Band, Concert Band and Stage Band. The bands played at different concerts, Foot- ball games, Homecoming, Basket- ball games, Queen of Courts and at the State Musical Festival. The Orchestra teamed with the Concert Choir at Campus and performed at the State Music Fes- tival held at Southeast. Larry Say- lor directed them. Campus High School Concert Choir is made up of 60 members. They practiced during 2nd hour and were under the direction of loeseph Fehrmann. The Concert Choir received a 2 rating at the State Music Festival. Other vocal music classes offered at Campus are Campus Singers, Freshman- Sophomore Choir, and Madrigals. ORCHESTRA - john Murphy, Vonda Bissantz and Wendell Goin are all a part of the violin section in the Orchestra directed by Larry Saylor. 165 0--r

With the encouragement of classroom 'discussion and the availability of newspapers and magazines, students learn more about presentsituations. Social Studies students concerned them- self this year with President Nixon and the Watergate affairs. Students debated whether the NixonfWatergate Scandle hurt Republican Party reputation. Besides the team-teaching in History classes, enrollees experi- enced instruction from student teachers from colleges. The stu- dents also learned more about the history of our country, how it began and why it is the way it is today. Government students were supplied with daily copies of the newspaper and weekly issues of Time magazine. Students also worked on study sheets, terms, watched films and took tests. Some of the Social Studies class- es offered at Campus High School were American History, taught by Leroy Griswald and joseph Mur- tha, World History, taught by Charles Black, and American Government, taught by Truman Mauck and Robert Williams. - ,N Social Studies Learn Democracy TEAM-TEACHING - Students discuss our country in American History class.
