Industrial Arts Offer Skills for the Future Industrial Arts courses at Cam- pus High School include Metals, Woods, Plastics, Printing, Me- chanical Drawing and Auto Mechanics. Each course starts with a begin- ning class in each area and through the years students be- come more advanced in the in- dustrial field of their choice. The skills and knowledge stu- dents gain through these courses and programs, such as Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, in which students receive on the job training while goingto school. This basis can lead to rewarding careers as machinists, carpenters, printers and other skilled posi- tions essential to the survival of our Industrialized society. St J . i i si t Y SCIENCE - Above, Terry Calendar's Science class had a visit from a very talka- tive Mina Bird who disliked cats, liked girls and told students throughout the day. Below, Don Berry, received high awards at the fair conducted in Wichita at the Regional Science Fair. Walter Cox took second Grand Champion, while Don was third Grand Champion in the second division. Tom Berry was fourth Grand Champion in Biological Science Division. Science Students Learn Valuable Experiences for Sccessful Future Dissecting frogs and fetal pigs, investi- gating premature calves, viewing films and doing a multitude of scientific experi- ments help to further Campus Science students' knowledge. The problems the students worked out in their science class- es can help them in their future life if they apply them correctly. Each of the students in the different sci- ence classes come out knowing more about the world around them and what helps make it tick. The Science Depart- ment offers many valuable experiences which may prove to aid a student of science. u-WW' TYPING - Girls must learn to type fast and without many errors as part of their office training. Students Practice for Life Ahead Campus High School students have the opportunity to learn skills in all fields of business. Typ- ing is taught at all levels for those needing both basic and advanced skills. Shorthand is offered for those who desire a career in office work. Recordkeeping and other business courses give the business minded student a basic knowl- edge to draw from in the future. Programs such as, Office Educa- tion and Distributive Education assist students in finding jobs so they can receive on-the-job train- ing while earning credit toward graduating. The Home-economic Depart- ment offers courses in basic and advanced cooking, sewing and family planning. These courses help students in home life after graduation.
