Club Learns Computors Projects that the 1973-74 Data Processing Club took part in con- sisted of, making a computerized calendar, holding a future telling booth in the Mardi C-ras, and hav- ing a computer matching service. Money earned throughout the year on the computer matching service was used to offer one ad- vanced student a scholorship. Officers of the Club were, Ray Ford, president, Dennis Carrico, vice president, Lonnie Braden, sec- retary, Debbie Shaw, treasurer, Mrs. Wanda Lindsey was the 1973- 74sponsor. Spanish Club Learns, Studies Spanish Club was designed to increase enthusiasm in the Spanish field, to develop a higher degree of proficiency in spoken Spanish by club members, to create interest and gain knowledge toward the Spanish-speaking people and their country, to be a service to the school and community. Activities of the club included, participating in the annual WSU concurso, going caroling during the month of December during school and after school, attending an Inter- national dinner, attending various cultural events throughout the year, and finishing the year with a picnic to a nearby park. Officers for the 1973-74 school year were, Dale Blaine, president, Ierry Suit, vice president, Cheri Church, secretary, Susan Blaine, treasurer, Cheryll Wedel, reporter, Terri Carter, historian, David Burks, social president. This club was organ- ized for the purpose of letting members get together and learn more about the French language, and how to speak it more fluently. Projects for the club included, an annual club picnic, sponsoring a varsity dance, attending the French Concourso at Wichita State Univer- sity, having a covered dish dinner combined with a skating party, and attending an International dinner. Officers for the club were, john Murphy, president, Diane Putnam, vice president, Diane Wade, secre- tary, Rick Doerfer, treasurer, Vera Myers, publicity chairman, Kathy Leedy, historian. Sponsor for French Club was Mrs. Dorothy Davis, German Club Learns Culture German Club was designed to provide a more informal atmo- sphere than the classroom in which to examine or lay plans for learning facets of the German culture. Projects for this year included the usual social activities such as a Christmas dinner, attending an ln- ternational dinner, and small get togethers. The major goal for the year was to form a state chapter of the National Federation of German students. Awards were given out at the ban- quet for excellent journalistic work, and a yearbook queen and king were crowned. The journalism Honor Society af- filiated with Publications club is the National Quill and Scroll, which consists of senior, junior and sec- ond semester sophomore journal- ists. These students helped to strengthen the journalism department. Officers were, Leslie Klein, presi- dent, Tanya Dillard, vice president, Doneta Brown, secretary, Debbie Dean Smith, treasurer, and Miss joye Corley, sponsor. Campus Life Christian Club Campus Life is an organization which is affiliated with Wichita Youth for Christ. Its purpose is to provide aspects of religious activi- ties, with various meetings through- out the school year. Projects during the 1973-74 school year included, raising money for Youth for Christ by participating in holding a haunted house in Wichita. Bulletin boards, were sold to help buy the club a van to make trips in. Officers were Gary McCutcheon, president, Terry Cook, treasurer, Elizabeth Hoogendoorn, secretary.
