Color Guard, ' Band Displays School Spirit Color Guard was designed for the sole purpose of marching with the band during pre-game and at half- time to entertain the audience and represent the school. These girls have shown much dedication by arriving at school at 7:00 A.M. three mornings a week throughout the school year to work on improving their marching abilities, and make up new routines to perform. Color Guard girls are also invited each year to attend Cessna day, repre- senting their school and drilling for others, although it was called off in 1973-74 due to the lack of gas. Sponsor for Color Guard for 1973-74 was Mr. Sigmund Leiker, while Cheri Church held the office of captain, and Carol Lies was co- COLOR GUARD - Front - Cheri Church. LW-as-f,g?VV Pom Pon aff an Pam Give Support Pom Pons were organized to promote school spirit, provide en- tertainment at school functions, and represent the school at activi- ties, such as parades and conventions. The primary activities of the squad is to design and perform in- tricate dance routines, and partici- pate in numerous events to encour- age school spirit. Pom Pons take turns putting on skits during assem- blies by playing the part of anything from the tail end of a train, to being SUPER COLT. Pom Pons sponsor for the 1973-74 school year was Mrs. Margaret Markham, while Bambi Carlson filled the position of Pom Pons president. Pep Club Shows Spirit Pep Club is the largest single club on Campus. The Pep Club girls have always been an important part of any school. Without them the school would have little or no spirit at a game. Pep Club girls make up one of the most active parts of a school body. They are the backbone of a school, helping the guys win a game by giv- ing them support galore. Sponsoring the Homecoming and Queen of Courts seem to be one of the primary functions of the Pep Club. To prepare for a royalty pres- entation and dance, the girls must spend hours preparing everything down to the finest detail. Kathy Hoggard, senior was the 1973-74 Pep Club president, and Vicki Evans was the vice president. Sponsors were, Miss Donna Bick- nell, Miss Debra lrwin, Mrs. Wanda Lindsay, Mrsz Cheryl Walker. l??
