THE STORY We imagine that each author of anything slightly new or different, fwhether it is hail- ed as an intellectual advance or an abysmal aberafionj, feels that it is the author's duty to present his side of the story in a sort of Statement of Intent , and so it is with us. We have tried to use as many new ideas as possible in an attempt to make this, your 1962-63 Maple Trail, a yearbook to be proud of. The main theme behind the art. layout. and intent of this book is PROGRESS , for under the philosophy and general objectives of Campbellsville College we feel that our school will grow to new heights in the devel- opment of the minds of young men and women under the guidance of Christian principles and democratic procedures. the editor IT'S LikE A Rook, i THINK, Tl-IIS BLOOMIN' WORLD, WHTCE You CAN READ AND CARE EoR JUST so LONG, BUT PRESENTLY You FEEL THAT You WILL DIE UNLESS You GET THE PAGE YOUR'RE READIN' DONE AN'TURN ANOTHER- -LIKELY NOT so sooo: BUT WHAT YOU'RE AFTER is TO TURN 'EM ALL. -------- RUDYARD KIPLING Table of Contents I ADMINISTRATION AND STAF F SENIOR JUNIOR ERESI-IMAN SOPHOMORE ACTIVITIES

President Compbellsville College There comes a time for all living things to reach maturity. Camp- bellsville College has reached that hour and is finding fulfillment in the roll of a four year college sewing the great central Kentucky area. This past year has been one of tremendous sacrifice by trustees. alumni, faculty. friends. and students. and consequently has been a pe- riod of unparalleled achievement in the history of Campbellsville Col- lege. As President I am grateful for the opportunity of sharing in the great task of building a college. But above all. I am grateful that this college holds, as it has from its inception, that education should prepare one to serve better both his fellow man and his God. ff 41x21 By: Dr. john M. Carter 5
