There were TOO voices in the chorus this year. This group was also the oratario choir. They present Handel's The Messiah each year and numerous other programs for the public. I, 94 , 276mm Uepafzlmemf Many Campbellsville College students are serious students of music, and enjoy the study of piano. They have found the following to be true: Our delight in a particular art or science rises and improves in proportion to the application which we bestow upon it . Thus, what was at first an exercise, becomes at length an entertainment. Music improves, exalts and glad- dens life. The A Cappella Choir is a small choir chosen for balance and blend of voices with quality for a cappella singing. They are featured on radio and television. This choir is also used for long distance tours into other states. This same group is also the personnel for our Madrigal Choir. 14 6440: The organ department fl has grown the last few ll l years and shows promising , results in the future. In addition to studying organ literature and the many f types of techniques used i ,u , ig, l R i Dewafufmemf in playing, the student also learns to adapt piano music to the organ. The organ has been correctly called the king of instru- ments. Z S ZZ 6540: The B.S. Three days a week the chapel programs are on the air, two days a week are used by the Music Department under the direction of Professors Harper and Adkins. This team which compiled an enviable I8-8 record was form- ed around the. nucleus of Dick Whitis, Bill Reece, Bill Nallia, Bob Wonder, and Herb Hawkes. In a cage campaign that must be termed a heart-swelling success, the Miller Men had their moments of abiect despair. With the Kentucky Junior College Championship all but in their grasp, the Tigers were caught on an off night by a weak conference foe and had to settle for the K. J.C.C. runner-up spot. The Bengals vied to show the conference who was who in the past season tourney only to be stopped by a team they had twice beaten during regular season play. But all in all, Campbellsville posted double wins over 4 opponents and with one exeption, de- feated every team on the scheduleat least once. One opponent tasted the Tigers' wrath 3 times. 66 LEFT TO RIGHT: Coach William Miller, Jack Wallace, Bill Reece, Ralph Romans, Jim Ringstaff, Bennie Keen Tony Badgett, David Hyde, Bill Nallia, Dick Whitis, Bill Mason, Bob Wonder, Herb Hawkes, Milt Williams, and Managers Lawrence Ford and George Ellers.
