s naturally for Pom Johnson s Q recent addition to Spring Festivol Week, this year ' s Air Guitar contest brought out the creotiveness in Compbell students. Lip- sync, the bosis of the Air Guitor contest, hos gained in popularity in recent years and con be seen on such television shows OS Put ' n on the Hits. Compbell is no exception. According to Thad Ship- man, o senior, I really enjoy going to the Air Guitor contest with my friends. It ' s reolly o lot of fun. Students began filing into Turner Auditorium ot 7:30 pm for the 8:00 pm show. As the cuttoin rose to o neorly pocked house, proving Its popularity with Compbell students, the crowd op- plouded the host, comedian Leroy Seobrooks, and cheered in anticipation of what was to come On that night the audience was not going to be let down by the performers. Imitations of such groups as ' The Time, Prince, Von Holen, and Klimoxx. The students did o super job of imitating their favorite performers Tommy McLomb, o senior, said, I thought oil the performers were fan- tastic, especially Jon Dowen. He choreographed his moves so well he looked just like ' Prince ' . In the end contestants were judged in the following areas, lip-sync, ap- peoronce and stage performance. From all the contestants five semi-finolists were chosen. A second round of perfor- mances followed and three winners were selected. First ploce went to The Time, second place to The Revolu- tion, ond third to Jon Dowen for his solo performance of Prince. — George Plumides Air Guitor — 29
