and the agony of defeat Wednesday, April 13, 1977 produced the field events. This strange combination of fun and competition as always was the highlight of the Spring Festival. Volunteer teams were organized and the competition began. First there was the egg and spoon race which called for the teams to run with an egg in a spoon without dropping it. The first team that finished with the egg intact was the winner. Next came such oddities as the sack race, the fireman ' s carry, the egg toss, and oddly enough a baby suck. The baby suck required one team member to suck diluted reconstituted lemon juice from a baby bottle. The teams with the highest number of points then went on to the ultimate event, the tug of war. The teams huffed and puffed and eventually a winner was declared. The winner was soon forgotten but the field events will always be remembered, especially by those who participated.

spring talent The spring talent show was enjoyed by all this year as the students were treated to a variety of talents and performers. There were many new faces in this year ' s show as many students learned that their friends were really talented people. Guitarists, pianists and singers were a part of the affair as the musical renditions were performed. Wrestling coach Ike Sherlock was the master of ceremonies and kept the crowd lively with his many stunts, jokes and puns. Coming away with the first prize was Larry Dean, who did his rendition of Elton John and showed his superb musica ability by playing the piano with his feet, hands and elbows; all this while singing All in all, this year ' s spring talent show was one of the most enjoyable yet.
