Things Different The library, due to the greed of its patrons, was forced to estabHsh- a new security system. Turnstiles were installed and repeatedly repaired; evidently it was easy to break, making it noisy and ineffective in the library. The administration, due to the way of the world, was forced to install a new security system and curfew for the entire campus. Women no longer had an established time to be in their residence halls and now the entire campus was secured at a certain time. Simplex locks, installed on the outside doors gave students freedom of movement and provided security for the residence halls. With the new locks and only a security curfew, things were different on men ' s and women ' s campus.

We had always experienced diverse moods, feelings and attitudes. It would have been nice to always be happy or sad simultaneously and at times we were. We realized that we could be touched by death, stunned by defeat and surprised by joy. We faced emotions that raged and left us empty and weak or tempered us to steel. We dealt with the facts; the Senior was no longer top dog, the job market was tight, and we had a lot to learn. Dealing with the facts led us to change reality; we became more aggressive, more self assured. We toughened and hoped for the best — for the future, for ourselves.

The campus in general was different, with the advent of a new law school and the anticipation of a graduate school, the buildings, themselves, changed. Kivett Hall underwent an extensive face lift and new walkways were slowly completed. We left a four year college and returned to a graduate institution. The very nature and atmosphere of campus called for maturity.
