2 JLy ■ I wish to compliment the Creek Pebbles ' for the consistent views contained in the editorals of Sept. 19 and Sept. 26. They were consistent in that they were totally devoid of common sense and factual content.;; Dexter Tolbert Many students have come to us, concerned about the lack of coverage of student activities . . . It is not our intention to critize your edi- torials or the newspaper as a whole but we do request adequate coverage of student activi- ties. SCA Special thanks goes to the staff of the Creek Pebbles for their cooperation during the cam- paign (ROTC Blood Drive). The newspaper ' s ad- vance notice informed the students of the event, described the program and explained the necessity for collecting the ' Gift of Life ' . James Callahn We are in total agreement with the SCA ' s opinion that the Creek Pebbles is not providing enough coverage of the students and activities at Campbell . . . Since the Creek Pebbles is a paper for the students, which you have neglected to make it for various reasons you only know, why don ' t you name it ' Strattner ' s Complaints ' ? Campbell Cheerleaders Miss Strattner has, in my opinion, done more for the students ' freedom to speak directly to the administration than the SCA ever dreamed possible. Mark Helms r r

In- dications are, according to editor, Ayn Strattner, that this year ' s staff will produce a newspaper different both in opinion and artistic struc- ture. ... I challenge you to ex- tend a little of yourself to the making of a college newspaper. Your ideas may differ from mine but I need to hear from you . . . The staff is of the opinion that we gave adequate coverage to news- worthy events, which included three full picture pages for the Harvest Festival within two issues of the paper . . , Creek Pebbles is in no way ' Strattners Complaints ' . The national and state elections were intertwined into this year ' s tapestry. Here on campus the Social Science Club, along with the SCA, held a mock elec- tion to determine the students ' attitudes toward the different candidates. The results of that elec- tion were. Senatorial Nick Califianckis 54% Jesse Helms 46% Gubernatorial Hargrove Skipper Bowles 49% James E. Holshouser 49% Presidential George S. McGovern 32% Sargent Shriver Richard M. Nixon 63% Spiro T. Agnew
