It is agreed by all who know him that Dr. Frank E. Weyer, Chairman of the Department of Education since 1961, is for the students. His allegiance to the students was evident early in his career when as a first year princi- pal of a small Nebraska high school he obUg- ingly accepted the extra duty of coaching the football team. Throughout the lean years of economic depression Dr. Weyer was for the students who had no money for college. He managed, as Dean of Hastings College, to find for worthy students jobs where none existed. The stream of guests, many of them profes- sionally notable, at the Old Campbelltown apartment of Dr. and Mrs. Weyer is indicative of the outcome of Dr. Weyer ' s belief in stu- dents. Yearbook dedication does not come as a new honor to Dr. Weyer; for at his Alma Mater, Hastings College, yearbook staffs recognizing that he was for the students saw fit to bestow the laurel of dedication on him three times. All three of those staffs felt as we feel now. Dr. Weyer is truly a skilled administrator who goes far beyond the line of duty — a real friend to students, faculty and alumni — a wise coun- selor of youth and a never-faihng help to those in need. For the excellence of his personal and pro- fessional contribution to Campbell College the 1971 Pine Burr staff proudly salutes Dr. Frank E. Weyer.
