Dedicated to Mrs. Edna Queener Proffit A yearbook dedication is an honor bestowed upon an individual for service in un- usual degree. The person honored is likely to be energetic, capable, and persevering. This year ' s honor goes to such a lady. She has spent twenty-four years in North Carolina public schools and eighteen years at Campbell College, from 1944 to 1947 and from 1951 to the present. This faculty member has been active in church, community, and college, devoting her life to the betterment of others. And so, respectfully, the 1966 Pine Burr is dedicated to Mrs. Edna Queener Proffit. r

FOREWORD During our lives, from time to time, we look back to see where we have been. One of the times people frequently recall is the period of college life. It is humorous that we notice mostly what is unpleasant while in college, but in later life our minds shift to fond memories. The 1966 Pine Burr has a twofold purpose. First, it helps us to relive this past year as an immediate replay. In this way, we have a sense of accomplishment in material form. Second, the Pine Burr is a memory prop, for the rest of our lives, that will help us experience 1965-66 over and over again. And so, here is presented the book of the year — that memorable year 1965-66.
