Dedicated to Our Parents. . . On this, as on every other college campus, students work hard and long to attain the status of educated men and women. Away from this, as from every other college campus, there is a much greater number of persons ( parents, they are called) who also work hard and long that this goal may be achieved. Their gift is not confined to just plain hard ivork and sacrifice but embraces also vital guidance, staunch support, and love. This role parents play in education dur- ing the college years may not be the greatest of their gifts to their sons and daughters, but it is of immense importance at the time and its ultimate meaning may not be reckoned even after generations. It is, then, most fitting that we dedicate this volume of the Pine Burr to those ivho started this year ' s achievement long before we did — our parents. May we make their dreams come true!

Bunn A college yearbook is by custom dedicated to some member of the college community who by reason of personal and professional qualities has made important contribution to students educational progress. Patience, understanding, kindly humor, and faith are among the important personal qualities: scholarship, firmness, and high ability as a teacher are vital professional characteristics. It is with a feeling that their selection honors many teachers of like quality that Pine Burr staff members name Dr. John T. Bunn, head of the Department of Religion, as the faculty representative in this years dedication.
