Prophecy of Class of ' 46 Since I am the seventh daujihter of a seventh daughter, I have great psychic powers. Now, as I gaze into my crystal ball I can see twenty years into the future and 1 can discern the figures of some of the class of 1946 of Campbell College. A large building comes into view and I see that it is tlie place of the annual meeting of the National Secretarial Society. I see a group come out of the door and. lo! ihey are all Campbellites. VinnaBeane is secretary to the goevrnor of North Carolina, Lorraine Britt is secretary to the president of the American Airline Company. Lester Caskill is head secretary to General Douglas MacArthur, Cora Male Parker is assistant secretary to the vice president of the United States, Gwendolyn Pearce is secretary to the governor of Virginia and Lois Wells is secretary to Baxter Walker, who heads a large church in Fayetteville. Now, I see all the way across the ocean, and Mac Byrd is head of the American-Chinese Air Force. He is a general with two stars. In the married group, I see Reva Cadd. Ruby Cashwell. Maiy Ruth Bodenlieimer. Helen Pat- terson, Sue Weathers, Annie Duke Wheless, and Dorothea Stewart. Meg Darden is head of the Red Cross nurses overseas. She is stationed in Berlin, and is contemplat- ing marriage on her first leave. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker are in .Africa. I see Roy is doing niedica] wink and Emma is teaching. Doris Robbins and James Reid art- now Mr. and Mrs. Rei l. They live in New York and James is director and owner of The Reid Phologiaphy f imipany. Sarah Humphrey and Madeline .Smart are doing full-time Christian work; both are pastor ' s as- sistants. Mildred Harrell is also in religious work. She is a missionary to Japan. Alhelle Coleman. I ee. is head nurse at Duke University, Ernestine Clarke is a doctor ' s assistant in Hickory, North Carolina. l,i la Caudle is an eye specialist in Tennessee and seems to have thoughts of becoming engaged. Madolyn Goodwin is teaching typing in New Bern High School. Olean Davis is also teaching. Her ' s is the seventh grade in Wilmington. Some other teachers, I notice, are Dora V. Ludlam, the second grade somewhere in S. C. Martha Jean Modlin. music at Meredith. J. C. Thomas, modern language at Wake Forest, Jackie Moore, math at Carolina, and Arelta Yarbrough, primary music at Danville, Virginia. She is also married. Catherine Campbell is teaching Home Ec. at Campbell until her marriage in the fall. Jo Lasater has just won ihe c men ' Tennis Championship of . merica. . fter this spring, she will be Physical Education Director of the Y.W.C.A. Callierine I ' pchurch is direclor of all Girl Sciput Camps in America, with her headquarters in Kenlucky. Jack Wilder is a pastor of a church in Raleigh and doing a wnnderful job. Joyce Catlett is also in Raleigh. .She teaches an art class bir advanced art students. Harry Lee is practicing nu ' dicine in Cliarlolte and next year is to bead the Doctor ' s Convention of lliat city. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Marsh are in Virginia. Margaret is Lester ' s able assistant. Wesley Noble is owner of an exclusive undertaker ' s parlor in Rocky Mount. He is also president of the Undertaker ' s Association of N. C. Mr. Aaron Phipps is pastor of a large church in irginia anil is -ccretary of ilie X ' irginia Ministerial Association, too. Helen Xanthos is the ordy wnman rejnesentative from New York.
