Sophomores 26 Prophecy of Class of ' 46 Since I am the seventh daujihter of a seventh daughter, I have great psychic powers. Now, as I gaze into my crystal ball I can see twenty years into the future and 1 can discern the figures of some of the class of 1946 of Campbell College. A large building comes into view and I see that it is tlie place of the annual meeting of the National Secretarial Society. I see a group come out of the door and. lo! ihey are all Campbellites. Septemlier 11, 194,S. as inexperieiiceil seamen tciwanl numemus frneign ports. L ' nforelold lanes we sailed amidst ragin;; storms of uneerlainty from sunup to sunset and often im into the night, yet urged fnreward by the compelling challenge tlial somewhere out in llie unseen were beautiful shores that would receive us into the folds of success. Thus ended the Freshman voyage, leaving many with eyes fixed on those exciting shores to be exploited as sophomores. As Freshmen, we strove to leave in the memories of our departed friends, the sophomores, small marks of our appreciation for their leadership during the year and honored them with the Freshman-Sophomore banijuet. To our beloved Faculty we labored to leave a lack of regret when looking back and an abundance of expectancy for a joyous and a fruitful year with us as sophomores. Class Poem We the Class of Nineteen Forty-six Have found it quite easy to mix. It is true we have no history. And it shouldn ' t be a mystery. • ' We have come here froin far off parts With great aims in our hearts. Dim liehts burning late at night; All those subjects were a sight. Buzzer rings and students always late! This has been our senior trait. Teachers frown and always scold, Be on time! we ' ve been told. Sitting in the drugstore gurgling a coke. Kids all giggling at a moran joke. Basketball game — a vibrating gym. Our rivals chances are mighty slini. Couldn ' t tell you all we ' ve done. But gee, it has been so much fun. Here at Campbell we ' ve made friends, A helping hand each student lends. You ' ll find a spirit honest and true. In every little thing we always do- So as our class of Forty-six departs; We have great sorrows within our hearts. ANITA FREEMAN.
