Parenti T bid my last farewell to the June class of 1969. For 21 years my farewells and good wishes have gone to the gradu- ates of Memorial High School. This year all of my good wishes and sincere appreciations of the past must go to our present graduates. Somehow, things seemed easier. Surely your excel- lent cooperation in all our endeavors gave me a deep feeling of gratitude and realization that I was working with a lovable group of teenagers who will become good citizens of our community and will serve their nation well. In all my years as a principal I strived to maintain a school where peace and goodwill reigned among tin faculty and the student body. This is the foundation which we must have if good education processes are to follow. In a world torn with strife and bitterness, peacefulness is good for the heart and all the accomplishments which are to follow. Yes, I bid you fare- well with a note of sadness, but also a deep gratitude that the good Lord has given me the opportunity to serve our youth for o9 years. You are a line group of boys and girls. I know you will succeed in vour endeavors and that vou will become great cit- izens of a great nation. When you have done your best, noth- ing more can be asked of you. In my remaining years I shall alwavs remember mv last graduation class, the June class of 1969. May the good Lord bestow His blessings upon vou and bring peace within your hearts forever and ever. With this accomplished a com- mittee of juniors decorated the cars of the Queen and her at- tendants and also the school cafeteria where a dance was held after the Homecoming game. Besides this dance the junior class sponsored three others, proceeds of which went into the class treasury for the prom. The members involve themselves with what’s happen- ing now in community and world affairs through the news media and active class discussions. The highlight of this year’s activities was Operation Christmas” spearheaded by the club sponsor, Mr. I W. Nolfi. Operation Christmas” brought Christmas cheer to a number of underprivileged fam- ilies in the community through toys and food collected from schoolmates and local business organizations. The History Club knew their efforts were worthwhile in showing that someone does care. HONV 1 — M. .Seinan. I). Haims. I). Glover. M. Julius.T. Rossi. T. I. lizia. I.. Maillis. I). Madirk.G. One must have a good number of dramatic achievements to become a member of this selec- tive organization. The Thespians have delighted the Memorial audi- ence with many fine productions under the direction of Mrs. Van Fossan. 80 No wonder the play was a success! The HKD AND BLACK MASQUERAD- ERS, supervised by Mrs. L. VanFossan, is Memorial’s dramatic club. To become a member, one must be voted for by several of the members during try-outs. The members of our dramatic club along with the mem- bers of the Thespians, the higher elub of drama, strive to learn the great art of play production and entertainment. Officers: Judi Clement — Soc. MEMORIAL 44 BROOKFIELD 12. Memorial put on their best offensive performance despite the cold, wind, and rain, as they dumped Brookfield. The Devils scored in all four quarters making their record at 4-1. The high- light of the game was Clarence Hudson’s interception from his middle guard position, scrambling 50 yards for a score. The Devils had a 13 to 8 advantage in first downs but failed to capitalize. Bob Mangiarelli again came up with key gains to lead the offense. FITCH 30 MEMORIAL 0. Fitch, capitalizing on Red Devil fumbles which were caused bv a steady downpour, handily defeated Memorial. It was a case of the Red Dev- ils not being able to do anything right, while the Falcons excelled in their efforts. GIRARD 50 MEMORIAL 8. For the second straight week the Devils were humiliated in cold and rainy weath- er. The Devils faded in the 2nd quarter allowing Girard to rack up 26 points, to put the game on ice.
