I2 Science The science department at our school has become one of the best-developed and best-supplied in the area. Our biol- ogy department has increased its equip- ment to include microscopes, statues, charts, cardiographs, and animals for dis- section, Both chemistry and physics class- es concentrate on learning by experiment- ing during their double periods of labora- tory. Recently Memorial has joined an experimental course, P.S.S.C. Physics, the purpose of which is to encourage its stu- dents to find out for yourself. The Key Mathematics Our math department prepares its stu- dents adequately for the higher math they will encounter in college. There is some math for every grade, including Algebra I and II, Plane and Solid Geometry, Trig- onometry, Bookkeeping, and Business Math. Furthermore, second year algebra students receive a preliminary foundation in analytical geometry.

Al- though the main function of the department is to help students decide on their vocations and solve personal problems, the department also administers many tests and interprets the results for the benefit of the students as well as the faculty. The class of 1962 is sincerely appreciative of the efforts of both Miss Hetrick and Mr. Monaco. During the Ohio State Psychology Test, Miss Hetrick watches over the seniors. Mr. Monaco answers a few questions of a student interested in attending college.
