THE Memorial Juniors had a fair season this year by winning seven out of fifteen games. The Little Satanmen had a five-hundred record in the Steel Valley Conference Loop winning seven and chopping seven in the race. Big Jesse Meredith and Rodger Raines proved to be the two big guns for the Little Red Devils. Raines, a Freshman, was the leading point getter on me squad, ending up the season with 139 points and an average of 9.3 points per contest. Jesse Meredith was close with an 8.8 points per game. Wilbur Patterson, Paul Tatar, Ray Kacvinsky and Bob Morris rounded out Coach Lou Konyas big six. The boys started off the season with two wins in a row, upsetting a strong Girard aggregation of 31-34 and then trimming Boardman 38-36. The next week found them losing to Struthers 24-32 but rebounding right back to trounce Niles McKinley 37-23. Then came the big blow that knocked the boys right out from under the Conference crown. The Fitch five started the ball rolling by downing the Devils 32-36, then Niles McKinley handed the boys a 21-39setback, fol- lowed by defeats by Hubbard 21-24, Girard 26-30and Niles Washington 27-29. Then Memorial got back in the win column once again by downing Boardman 35-34. Struthers, avenging earlier defeat at the hands of the Wild Kittens, 29-18 and then trounced Fitch 35-28. The Little Devils ended regular season play by losing to Hubbard 25-33. In the Junior Hi Tourney the Devil quintet were nosed out of the running by Wilson Junior Hi 37-40. S gr Row 1-E. Ostrowski, I.
