BETSY RYAN - 8th The Boston Tea Party It was the sixteenth of December 1773. The ships with their tea cargo had not left in twenty days. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere and Ben Franklin organized a protest that would make cold salty tea for Boston. They recruited many young boys to lead the protest: they dressed as Indians and boarded the tea ships. The captain of one ship came up to see what was happen- ing. They asked him for the keys and unloaded all of the tea into Bos- ton Harbor. Afterwards they cleared the decks, and the captain agreed that no damage had been done to the ship.
