Abe Lincoln stopped the slavery It must have taken a lot of bravery And what a man could, with some debates: Work to stop separation of the States. DANA EKLUND - 8th A Fight for Independence America would not be what it 'is today, If we didn't listen to what people had to say: All together we fought with pride , And this plentiful land grew far and wide. Brothers we were hand and hand, As we fought for our national land: Brave and bold our men did fight, Till there was not one British left in sight. So at last we were proud to win our victory . And prayed for the soldiers who died for our countryg And over the battlefields there was a silent cry , Except for a little bird who sung independence for America that never did die . This little place if you haven't already guessed , Is the General Store where you could find the very best. KAREN ANGONA - 8T.h

BETSY RYAN - 8th The Boston Tea Party It was the sixteenth of December 1773. The ships with their tea cargo had not left in twenty days. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere and Ben Franklin organized a protest that would make cold salty tea for Boston. They recruited many young boys to lead the protest: they dressed as Indians and boarded the tea ships. The captain of one ship came up to see what was happen- ing. They asked him for the keys and unloaded all of the tea into Bos- ton Harbor. Afterwards they cleared the decks, and the captain agreed that no damage had been done to the ship. This was only one protest made to England during the colonial period. CHRISTOPHER BRANCH - 8th
