DUNHAM It seems that whenever anyone needs a friend, you're always willingly there to help. A person we feel we can always count on. Besides your helping hand out- side class, you are an essential in class. Hard work is your key word, and in your classes we all have to Work, but it always seems fun! As far as a coach you're the greatest! So, it has been through your friendliness, humor, outstanding teaching ability, and school spirit, that we, the Yearbook staff of 1971, shine this Spotlight on you, Mr . Arthur Putman IN MEM ORIAM Departed Friends The dead friends live and always wi llg Their presence hovers round us still. It seems to me they come to share Each joy or sorrow that we bear. Among the living I can feel The sweet departed spirits steal, And whether it be weal or woe, I can walk with those I used to know. I can recall them to my side Whenever I am struggle -triedg l've but to wish for them, and they Come trooping gayly down the way, And from their presence find relief In sacred memories below Still live the friends of long ago. Edgar A. Guest Alma Mater In all her grandeur firm and proud, Mid scenes we love so well, Our noble Alma Mater stands, Most glorious to tell. For her we'll fight With all our might, Nor honor shall she lackg With verse and song her praise The Crimson and the Black! 6 prolong Cathy Cardinale ' in heres I'll take 1 SENIORS Our Memories As We leave C.C.S. let us remember: Those huge boxes We carried our freshmen year full of X-mas cards and gifts , Weren't they heavy? Hey Paul, remember playing Wilbur in our first play? And how about Blake as Hercules ??!! Remember those hectic days before our first dance We pulled it off though, And how about those sweet sophomore candy sales? TOO sweet!! Dianne, can you still remember all those lines you had to learn for An Apple for Teacher , our sophomore play? And then came our junior year and all that planning for the prom . I doubt if Claudia will ever forget all the Work. We were all kept busy for many Weeks, but our Enchanted Evening made up for all the hard Working hours . 5 of us were honored by induction into the honor society. How could jim, Gail, Dianne, Kathie and Cynthia ever forget those frightening moments on stage?!! Our junior play was well liked by all of us because 14 of us were able to participate. We tried Dawn, playing the part of Ain't , and found her guilty. Those magazine sales seemed a pleasant relief from our previous projects. Dawn V. Ernest Risley District Principal 3. As each years Seniors come and go there have been some questions I would like to pose. As this years Seniors you have given some clues but the answers will come in future news. Can you truly make judgments on the basis of the known facts? Can you accept the responsi- bility for your own actions? Do you expect as much from yourselves as you do from others? Can you give credit to others where credit is due? Are you prepared to live honestly within your own means rather than dishonestly upon the means of others? Are you ready to give an honest days work for an honest days pay? Are you ready to accept in your own life known truths? l wish you all the success you deserve. She has given many years of faithful service to this district, and is the kind of person andteacher that is difficult to replace. Many of us had the privilege of having her influence and guidance in the 6th grade, and we are of one mind that she has, and well deserves, our lasting respect.
