TO THE MEMBERS OF THE STEEL BATTALION: Our battalion is universally ranked among the Division's best. You have made it so by your performance. in the General Inspection, ORTT, and in such other areas as reenlistment, safety, mess management and com- petitive athletics. ' ' The credit is yours, and yours only. You have turned in some great indi- vidual performances but, more important, you have shown that, working together, soldiers can do wything. I hope, as you take justifiable pride in what you have achieved, you also pause to reflect on the lesson we have learned. It is that together we are stronger than the 'sum of our individual parts -- and better too. The Ice- son holds for the Army, for civilian life, for all things.
