' lf' 'gm Q- Q BASKETBALL w The aim of every athletic-minded camper, from the ' beginning of the summer, has been to perfect her basketball ' 'r game. By placing extra emphasis on passwork, and by work- Q ' 1 ing for greater accuracy in shooting, every girl has achieved .g-- Q better technique and has found it easier to work with the rest of the team. I The Varsity Week game was the culmination of the seasons efforts The systems that had been practiced so faithfully all summer, worked perfectly. From Ron throw- in Shirley to Carol to Frankie and then to Pearl went the ball -and into the basket for the first goal of the game! The Dacks, not to be outdone, succeeded, before the end of the half, in gaining an advantage of two points. Lil Bader and Jean Field's pass-work had worked too! The score climbed from 15-16 to 15-17 in favor of the Dacks, and then, as the spectators and the teams worked themselves into a near-frenzy, the Rons, in a spurt of energy, sank first one and then a second basket, making the final score 19-17 in their favor. The Sub-Seniors, every bit as ambitious as the Seniors, also gave the specta- tors a basketball thrill. The spectacular shooting of Clarice and Carol from all parts of the court, and the excellent pass-work of both Ron and Dack centers, all served to show how much the Sub-Seniors had accomplished. Both teams played well, but Rons were victorious, the final score being 15-7.
