Interlocutor-Well, let,s not quarrel about it. It was a good show. Nlolasses Block-You know, Ah kinda liked the song to Abie, You're My Relaxa- tion, and mos' of all Ah loves our own song Oh, There Are just Three of Us and That Makes Us Sore. The Timtef qi Tenqmzce Oh, it was the very model of a drama operatic, It was full of information scenic, vocal and dramatic. There were tender-hearted pirates at their dubious profession, There were all the Major's daughters in astonishing procession 7 And then there were policemen, too-more timid than ambitious, And paradoxes popping up at moments unpropitious. In short in all of matters vocal, scenic and dramatic, lfVe gave the very model of a drama operatic! lt's true that Ruth confused the words which Frederick's father But she was only slightly deaf and very Well-intentioned. Poor Frederick-slave of duty and of conscience inelastic- Torn between his Mabel's charms and pirate oath most drastic No hero at the age of five was ever more precocious, Or ever had his birthdays fall in manner more atrocious. In short, in matters comical and thoroughly erratic, WVe gave the very model of a drama operatic! A more encyclopedic major-general ne'er sported A higher hat than Stanleyls, or a knowledge more assorted, Or told an Orphan's story more irregular and phony Than Stanley did to save his brood from sudden matrimony. But when a dreadful pirate proves to be an ex-Brain Truster, lt's very clear that as a son-in-law he will pass muster. In short, in every matter vocal, scenic and dramatic, lVe gave the very model of a drama operatic! 58 I mentioned,
