GBaz.febrzll Hello, everybody! This is the Rondack Globe-Trotter bringing you the latest and most interesting events of Varsity YVeek. First, welre taking you to the opening game of the Ron-Dack baseball series. Watch closely and you'll see Jeanne Tannenbaum out there in the pitcher's box. Wow! She pitched a hard one, but she's just warming up. Just look at Har- riette Slote jump aside when those fast ones come! It certainly takes courage to be Jeanne's catcher. It's about the middle of the game now, and the score is tied 2-2. Here comes l Helen Hirsch up to bat now. Watch the put- ting green, folks. She hit a gorgeous foul. Just straighten it out, Helen. There! She did it! Yes, but Helen Schwartz caught it at first! Too bad-one out. Jeanne seems to be invincible. She just struck out two of the Ron's best players. 'What a game! Now the Dacks are up at bat. Two men managed to get by Betty Ross's swift pitching. Now Edna Isaacs hits a gorgeous grounder and gets another Dack home as the crowd wildly cheers. That excitement you see on the sidelines is just Dack enthusiasm over the score. Jffcbezfy i Well, here is your Talking Photographer back again, to show you how Rondack's archers 'Shoot the W'orks.' There's Frankie Block just going up to the fifty-foot mark. She's shot beautifully so far, but Jeanne Tannenbaum is going to be hard to beat with a score of 170. Look at that form! She's shooting her last arrow now. Zip, there it goes-a bull's eye. Let's go over to the judges' corner and get the score. Too bad, Kons! Jeanne's won by 62 points. They tell me that a new star, Ruth Litt, has loomed Llnter' Rondack's horizon. Here are a couple of shots of the new champ, and her opponent Priscilla Wolff. You can tell by watching them in action why the score was so close, why those brand-new targets were shot full of holes by the end of the tournament. And they say that there are at least two dozen up and coming Juniors who look as if they might be future shooting stars too. 40
