An Interview With the ' wi Leading Littly Hy CAROL Litwis I fell up the steps of Bunk A. hoping to Iind the Ron Captain at home-for once. Is Captain Altsehul in? She is? ! I ! Hello, Miss Altschul. Er-I ,represent RONDACTS. Do you mind answering a few questions for your public? Oh thank you, that's fine! VVell, then, l'm sure that the Rons of 1934 have helped you discover what makes up a good team. VVhat do you think are essential qualities ? A spirit of cooperation and helpfulness combined with a sense of loyalty to team and teammate are fundamental require- ments. And does your team measure up to the standards you have set ? My team has been the personilication of these standards. Then what do you think of the Daek Team? They have added another page to their inimitable record of clean sportsmanship. 'llheir spirit has been worthy of their cap- tain and bus man, Mabel and Helen. 'WVell, I can see that you have a high opinion of ,Rons and Dacks alike, but haven't you a special message for your own team ?'l Naturally, l feel greatly honored that they chose me as their leader and I eouldn't help but do my best with such a dear friend and so capable a girl as Isabel for Ron bus man. I appreciate their willing cooperation and want to thank them all for being' so pleasant to work for and with. I am sure that both Rons and Daclcs alike will be interested in what you have told me. Thank you very much, Captain Altschul. Good afternoon. And l fell down the steps of Bunk A and dashed for a typewriter. ,Ati Interview With the fDiicle Liiiiiiiig Litiiy By JEANNE 'lXxNNEN1xaUM --this is the last time V' I said as I prepared to scour the campus once more for that busy personage known as the Daek Captain. Ah, could that possibly be she ? and forward I dashed. Before she was able to turn, I had breathlessly popped my hrst question. How has the spirit of the Dack Team been this year F 'l'he Uacks, in this respect, have been un- surpassable. Each girl has displayed a most cooperative and helpful attitude towards her team-mates, as well as towards I-Ielen and myself. XNfhat have you to say to this fine team of yours? I-lere she paused, then, in a reverential tone: To them, l' can only say that in thinking me worthy and capable of being their leader. they have conferred upon me an honor l shall never forget. And to Helen? To her goes fully half the credit for this memorable smnmer. To work with so re- sponsive and helpful a 'bus man' has indeed been agreeable and I am greatly indebted to her for her loyalty. l hesitated about interrupting the ensuing refiective silence, but RoNpAc'rs must go to press. However, before I could broach the next topic, Mabel had started to speak about it. The Rons. in all our associations. have proven themselves worthy of such loyal and earnest leaders as Ruth and Isabel. Their line sense of sportsmanship and friendliness has inanifested itself throughout the sum- mer. ' Thanks, Captain Mabel ! and as I closed my pen, oFf dashed that busy captain again, knocking the top off my pen, in her haste, and just barely missing me.

gag Outing Seem' Smut Come along this evening with your Hollywood reporter as he takes you to a scene of the 'Stars' at play. XVe travel down Pinegrove Boulevard until we reach Campfire Circle. Here all the famous celebrities of the Rondack Studios have gathered for their midsummer beach party. Up above. the mere celestial stars shine brightly, and just as the more earthly 'Stars' are lighting their camptire, the moon slowly edges over the top of Grasshopper Hill. liven Henry of the XN'aldorf could not have prepared a more suitable or delicious repast. 'I'hose famous 'eighteen-day-diets' and dieters seem to have disappeared. for when cheese and crackers, brownies and marslmiallows come on, they barely pause for breath, and every drop of food is tinished. Now the spirit of the 'Stars' radiates in a medley of friendly songs. As both song and fire die down, and quiet conversation replaces them, that select' group feels in this sentimental moment more closely bound than ever by the high ideals of GAG. Softly they sing that fond familiar strain, 'Gamma Alpha Gamma Girls' and now as they return to their 'suburban cabinsf we bid them a pleasant' good-night. with one lingering sympathetic glance at those heavenly bodies that twinkle down on our own illustrious 'stars.' 34
