THE 1959 FOOTBALL SEASON The 1959 football season opened on Sept- ember 11 as the Devilpups trounced their first victim of the year, Havelock High, 26 - 0. The only defeat of the season was next in line as Beaulaville won 20 to 13. The next team destined to fall at the hands of the Devil- pups was Beaufort, the present state champ- ions. The Devilpups were again victorious as they defeated Swansboro 20 to 0 in the Home- coming Game. Two weeks later the Devilpups rolled over Quantico in the traditional game, 27 to 6. The season came to a fitting end on Nov- ember 6 as the Devilpups slaughtered Dixon 52 to 0. The following players made Honorable Mention: FULLBACK .... Jim McCarvill GUARDS . . . . . .
