SCHOOL CALENDAR IUNE 1. Gads! These exams! 1 don't believe l will be getting my diploma. 2. Say, it's a sunny day. I thought it would be raining since this is the day of our beach party-- 3. LAST DAY OF SC1-lOOL!!!! I don't want my diploma .... Sniff, I wish I were a Freshman again. AUGUST 27. All the wonderful times we had this summer are over as we settle down to the busi- ness of registering for a new school year. SEPTEMBER 8. Ye gads, school has begun. We elected cheerleaders, and Lil was re-elected head cheerleader. 9. Oh no, homework already? 10. Our first football game of the season was a disappointment to us all as Wilmington beat us with a score of 19-0. 13. M-m-m first hot lunch was served today. 14. Well, now we have 18 in the Senior Class. Dear old Herb decided to come here and help our football team. 18. The Constitutional Convention was held marking the beginning experiment in Student Government. Any Comments? Question has been called for, so ORDER!!! 24. At least we did tie our old arch rival, Jacksonville, with a score of 7-7. We sure fooled them!! 27. The annual staff was appointed and the plans for the new DEVILPUP got under way. Sada and Lil were appointed co-editors. 28. How would you like to buy an ad for the good old Camp School. Sorry, no ads under 520. 29. The PUP'S TALE staff was announced. Guess who were elected oo-editors. Yes, Mickey and Bruce. OCTOBER l. Our Homecoming Game with Pamlico marked another defeat, but the crowning of the Homecoming Queen, Pat Baker, helped soothe our wounded pride. This day also marked the installment of a jukebox in our cafeteria. Thank goodness we don't need nickles. 3. The Freshman initiation was a riot as the Froshs bowed to the Seniors. Boys dress- ed as girls and girls as boys. Oh no, do I have to Bow to you again? 4. Well, we lost a Senior. Good-by, Velma. 6. Measurements for our class ring were taken today, and we're beginning to realize that this is our Senior year. What, you wear a size llV2? Wouldn't you say he made a mistake? 7. Speeches were given for Student Government officers. Vote for me, and we'll have no school!! Congratulations Mark and Mickey. ll. Wanta buy an ad? Huh? ya wanta? Huh, Mister, Please. Huh? S35? SIS? 5310? Well, all right, 55. 13. Started taking class pictures today. Flash, I have to have mine made too. 14. Make room in the car-Move over, will you? We've got to get our Senior Pictures taken. No, the boys cannot go alone, they might not come back. 18. Morehead here we come. That's all right, we'll get even with you in basketball. 19. Would you PLEASE bring your money for the State Fair? 20. I'm going. 21. Give me my S3 back, I can't go. 22. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Mark. Off to Shallotte we go. Well, it could have been worse- after all, 13-6 isn't too bad, is it? Besides they had a good team. 23. Ho-Hum 6:00 a.m. and away to a wonderful day at the State Fair in Raleigh. 25. Clean-Up Week begins. Hey, you dropped a piece of paper on the floor!! 26. Oh no, six weeks exams. Are you cheating? You are? Well fine. 27. Physical examinations . . . Ha-Ha, you have flat feet! 28. Not report cards already! Dad will never let me out this weekend with grades like this! 29. What a crowd! This Ha1lowe'en Carnival surely is a big success, and right after we finished cleaning up the halls. NOVEMBER 6. Please Mista, we need the S35 for our annual. 8. First day of basketball practice . . . Oh, I'm sure you'll make the team. 10. First Edition of the PUP'S TALE. Who put my name in the gossip column? 11. Veterans Day-Hallelujah no school! 12. Senior Boys vs. Junior boys in a history-making trespassing case. 17. Honor Society has begun-Congratulations officers. 18. Don't tell me you're finally 17 years old, Lil! ' 19. The much planned and enjoyed trip to Duke University. Calling all football players and cheerleaders!! ' 22. Well-1-l look at the cute corpsmen. Please-e-e don't hurt my arm. 24. Comes the time when we give our thanks-especially for getting out of school. 25. No, thank you, I couldn't eat another bite, but I will take a little more turkey. DECEMBER 1. ls it basketball season already: The first game had Newport opposed to the C. L. Devilpups. Girls: 56-43 flt wasn't our girls favor! Boys: 75-50 fTheirs eitherl. 2. Honor Society tapping in a solemn ceremony. How in the world did YOU get in??? 8. Oh Heavens, report cards again. Honestly Dad, 1'l1 do better next time.
