I - . . a SCHOOL CALENDAR Summer fades away and here we are all back together again with new faces among the old. Registration-hum-seems to be a big class. The halls are filled with sad faces as we greet one another and start on our last l78 days. Cheer up-Iune 4th isn't too far off. Rah, Rah, Bah, Assembly called 7th period and cheerleaders were chosen with Lil Cohen as head cheerleader. The stands roar as Mottershead goes over for the touchdown that brings us our first win of the season over the Wilmington B team, 13-6. Lunchroom opened today and we were served the first hot lunch in the new cafeteria. The Senior class increased in number today-Cutie arrived. Say-not bad-another senior. Big lim came to help us on our winning way. tHe did tooll ' 'Nother big win-stomped Beaufort 33-0 in second game of the season. Board the buses gang and away we go to wipe Richlands off the map with a score of 44-0. Sad departure of two of our best friends-Bill and Tom Hemmingway moved to Twenty-nine Palms, Calif. Dedication of Annex-beautiful ceremony but hot-oh-! Gee-keep up the good work boys. Walked, and I do mean walked over Pamlico County 44-0 in second away game. Ice Cream-Soft drinks-Get your ice cold ice cream here, as the P. T. A. picnic progressed amid shouts of laughter. Senior meeting 7th period! What about? Class rings-at last we really feel like seniors-even if they did just take our measurements. Another win-Swansboro 33-7. Began taking pictures-now we feel as if we've really started work. Hello lose-the Senior class now totals 28. Mr. Boney arrives to take over the tenth grade and science classes as Mrs. O'Brien moves down the hall to an over-crowded fifth grade. Mel Oh you're kidding, you mean I'm really gonna sponsor my hero? was heard as the football players picked their sponsors for Homecoming. At last-the big night. Lallie was crowned queen, and the game? It was sad, it was sad- One lil' point! Don't touch my arm-EEEOOOWWW!-Need I say more? Shots today! Also we defeated our arch rivals in the annual I'ville game 13-6. Binnnnng-up at 5:00 fBut not awakei and away we go to spend a won- derful day at the State Fair in Raleigh. 3:00 A.M.- About time, I was just getting ready to call the M.P.'s echoed through many a house as we stumbled in from our gay trip. Happy Birthday Big Iohn. Devil Pup Staff announced and we started taking individual pictures of the lower grades. Beat Iones Central 40413 in our last game of the season. Euk! WHAT is it? Oh, an odd member of the Hallowe'en dance. Pup's Tale Staff announced. Pile in every body, as the Seniors go down to have their class pictures taken. Wanta buy an add? Huh? ya wanta? Huh, Mister please Huh? The Marine Corp and Kerry celebrated their birthdays-Happy birthday to both of you! ! ! The Sophomore class is doing pretty good. Third teacher arrived today. Welcome Mr. Bryant. Come on Mista, what's thirty-five measly smackers? Adds again. First day of basketball practice-oh, my aching muscles. Uniforrns,came today-hurry home-only two hours to get ready. Darn straight hair-that football banquet would have to be tonight. Happy Thanksgiving! I feel as if I am going to pop! Happy Birthday, Ann. I8 already! Back to the old grind. It was nice while it lasted. National Honor Society Tapping Ceremony today. Oh, my shoulder- those kids are vicious. When the senior girls started patting their hair and the senior boys started shaking hands with everyone they saw we knew the class rings had arrived. Eddie made his first A in English. WI-IAM! ! It never happened be- fore and it'1l never happen again! Did anyone in here bring their money for their annual? Everyone's famous last words were I'l1 have it here by tomorrow! Pretty dresses and handsome boys-This was our Christmas formal? They've been changed to blue now! Oh, no! You mean we'll have to vote all over again? The fight for white robes won out, and unless they change it again, we'll be decked out in the hard-fought-for white. They may have used the decoration left over from the Christmas formal but they had a grand time at the Iunior Hi Tea Dance. Again many thanks to Mrs. Finley and Miss Ingram. At last--holidays are here. Never thought I'd make it. Merry Christmas, everyone.
