.il CLASS PROPHESY The 1964 Senior Class reunion was held in the ballroom of the New York Hotel Statler, where that band of renown, Margle's Mambo Magic, led by our own Margie Hollen- beck, was furnishing the entertainment. The Master of Ceremonies was none other than our old class president, Don Abernathy, now owner of the Big Orang' Drank Company. The screeching brakes announced the ar- rival of Eddie Rocket Philbin and Adolph The Maniac Yanez in from Indianapolis where Eddie had just placed first and Adolph, second in the famed 500 mile classic. Next arrival was Ann Key, who is now married to the Mayor of Charleston, S. C., and is the mother of eight. With her was Kerry Warren, who is a model being used in an experiment by a company who thinks they have discovered the formula for an everlasting peroxide. Congressman Ierry Brown came ln looking rather tired after a l4 hour filibuster on the House floor. Then climbing out of a taxi from Madison Square Garden we saw Bruce The Brooklyn Bomber , terror of the wrestling arena. Next entered Don Pope, dressed in the finest sllks of the Ortent, who ls the owner of the Shanght, Hong Kong, G Bang-Gok Railroad. With him was his ace engineer, Fireball Wally Hewett-Baker was not with Popelll We learned why . . . Bake' was delayed in the China hills after jumping ship in the Shanghai harbor to meet Don. A long black Cadillac pulled to a stop and out stepped Bring 'em back allve Hudson, just returning from a Safari into the deep, dark depths of steaming Africa. Then, in strolled Bob Royster in one of his own zoot suits which he has made the rage of conservative England. After a slight interval, into the ballroom waddled Chet Mottershead, head-coach at Penn State. tGlrls' Volleyball teaml. Then Bobby Peele, who re- turned from the Olympics in Paris where he won the Decathalon, Pentathalon, and everything else, came in with Charlie Rookie Sells, new tough screen private-eye, now starring in MGM's Tough Monkey . Further entertainment was furnished by Iohn johnny Ray Mugford, idol of all teen-age girls. His best record is The Little Green Cloud that Bawled. Ioan Covignac flew to the reunion from Lasambo-Bolobl, Belgian Congo, where her hubsand is a recruiting officer. Together entered Pat Bug McCulley, creator of that fantastic comic-strip Space- Rat and Iimmy Oggerino, M.D. tMule Doctorl from Ochloch- nee, Georgia fPop. 41 people and 10 mulesl. Agnes Dietz returned from Hollywood where she is a Commercial Artist. Also from California came Helen Grey whose husband is at Camp Pendleton. That great leader of the insurrection against the Communists in Puerto Rico, Iose Rodiquez, attended and Iimmy Barker, owner of his used car lot Barker's Buggy Basket followed Iose into the ballroom trying to sell him a 1958 jeep to use in his next campaign. Mary Lou Nevin, after completing an assignment as ambassador to Tibet, was able to return to the U.S. in time for the reunion. Evelyn Weitz came from Klnston, where she is a Tobacco Auctioneer for Lucky Strike. We are sorry to relate that besides Baker, two more mem- bers of the class of '54 were unable to attend. Durelle Tur- cotte was a guide at the Pentagon and has been lost since 1957. And Gene Noll is now in a Los Angeles' hospital re- covering from injuries received in a Roller Derby. The affair was a big sucess and all promised to attend in 1974. We hope that Itm, Durelle, and Gene will be able to attend.
