A State Supported School 2 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: Students and prospective students at Cameron College, we offer you a growing school with a future as brilliant as the sunrise of our own Western Oklahoma. With accreditation by North Central Accrediting Association in 1962, with $1.6 million of new buildings getting underway on our campus, and with the alert, intelligent and forward-looking youth on our campus, the prospects for higher education are increasingly bright in Lawton and Western Oklahoma. As Cameron College strives to promote culture, higher academic standing and superior job opportunities for the youth of this portion of Oklahoma, more and more the college will depend upon support by the people of Lawton and the surrounding areas of Oklahoma. Our social activities, sports and intercollegiate participation in the areas of speech, music and science will continue to increase in quality as the size of the institution grows. With the new buildings which are going up this year, enroll¬ ment at Cameron will continue to expand with the growing community until in 1970, Cameron ' s student body may number approximately 5,000. A growing school with unlimited space for expansion, Cameron beckons to all those who envision an institution of learning which will prepare students for jobs in the modern world, give them a boost along the way in the search for higher degrees, and support them in the search for more worthy American Citi¬ zenship. Cameron State Agricultural College is the academic cen¬ ter of Lawton, Oklahoma, a rapidly-growing metropolis just south of the picturesque Wichita Mountains and ad¬ jacent to Ft. Still, the Artillery and Guided Missile Center of the United States. Founded May 20, 1908, this junior college is now the largest in Oklahoma. Rapid expansion of the cam¬ pus facilities for classrooms and laboratories is occurring under the administration of Dr. Richard Burch, president of Cameron College.
