It has been his pleasure to award diplomas to 522 graduates to which will be added 46 more by the 1951 senior class. One-half of the 51850.00 was raised by the patrons and teachers, the Board matched this amount. In 1937 the new Grammar School was built. The Principal's home bought by the school for S1500.00. The Principal paid the first payment of S150,00, a personal check. In 1938 the schoolrepaired the house in and out with a new top at a cost of Sl000.00. In 1943 the house was deeded to the Trustees of the Canton Separate School District by the Principal, be- ing clear of all debts. Professor Rogers commands the re- spect of every good citizen that knows him from both races. He is a man of great tolerance, humble, modest, aggressive and optimistic, a splendid example of citizenship. This year three members were added to the faculty, making a total of thirty excluding the principal. His untiring efforts and love for boys and girls shall live forever in the minds of those who know him. tllikf., 5'ifr ?2 . Vg 1, f-41, flrfvfffyljfn r L, N ,uf 1 f.f,q WW- - V':,?Jffj?1Uf ',. ..
