Dr.D0nald Cove named interim principal 'r. Raymond Weinhold resigned his position as principal at Camelback early this year in order to accept a job with the Tempe Union High School District. Though Weinhold was principal for only a year, he was commended before the Board of Education for his Work at Camelback by parent Art Grangaard. Dr. Weinhold's replacement, Dr. Donald Covey. served as interim principal until a permanent prin- cipal could be named. S lvester joins facult as band director illiam Sly Silvester came from Bountiful. Utah to join Camelback's music department as the new band director. When asked if he had any concrete objective for the future, Mr. Silvester replied that he wanted Camelback to have the best band in the country. 'X He said that he would try to pro- vide the motivation for his band to attain that goal. Due to cutbacks in student en- rollment in music classes. it be- came necessary to decrease the number of music courses to be of- Vickie Myrick, Kathy Wells and Leonard Valencia of the Camelback Singers sing a medley of 20's. fered.
