TIIH TIQBP COACH W L BREUER Supermtendent W L Breuer has been coachlng basketball for 20 conse cutlve years 1n additlon to h1s work as Supt of Schools He has also coached football track and baseball The records show that Mr Breuers boys have won 357 games and lost onlv 82 games durlng h1s coachmg career The Camdenton Tlgers have won 43 trophies ln 5 years During those 20 years hls glrls won 338 games and lost '71 Gxrls basketball was dropped thxs year m Camdenton School Tne Camdenton teams have made one of the best records ln the State du 1ng h1s s1x years as coach Our team won first place ln State compet1'1on last year and would have won lt agaln th1s year but for a few bad breaks The team lost to Glasgow ln the Reglonal nnals Camdenton was leadm 13 to 1 at the end of the flrst quarter but 3 of our regular players were ejected because of too many fouls and Wlth the fouls went the State Honors Glasgow easily won thlrd place ln the State Tournament The Success of the great Tlger teams of the past IS the result of Mr Breuexs great leadershlp as both a coach and a man of the h1gh6St type Schools all over the S ate look to Camdenton as not only a place where good basketball players are developed but a school wxth the flnest school sp1r1t 1n the State We are proud of the fact that our students must be clean xf they are to represent Camdenton I-hgh School ln any form of sport We challenge any school to show Us a group of cleaner boys than we have on our basketball squad Mr Breuer has done outstandxng tralnlng ln all the blggest coachlng schools 1n the Um ed States Wh1Ch lncludes Northwestern Indlana Butler West Frankfort Bloomlngton Plttsburg Abel1ne Unlversxty of MISSOUTI and Kansas He 1s recogmzed by the entlre Sta e as one of the best coaches and school men 1n the State The Tigers have won 108 conference games agalnst 10 losses ln the last five year lhey have won 152 games and los 16 1n Hve years won Fr1sco League. four consecutlve years The team establlshed a record of wmnlng the FFISCO League thls year w1tl1 out a defeat Each year the bovs and Pxrls of our school look forward 'o the next year because they know Wlth Mr Breuer as head of the school a bxgger and better school wlth better teams each year w1ll be 1n order . THE Tllllll INTRAMURAL ATHLETICS A new and successful experlment ln Camdenton H1gh School th1s school year was a system of lntramural games for all of the students Th1s afforded everyone an opportunlty for fr1endly competltlon and healthful exerclse Teams were selected by numbeung to HVOld factxons of strong players all ln one team Junlor hlgh groups were d1v1ded 1nto ones two and threes and Semor hlgh ac cordmgly The groups were also separate lnto boys groups and glrls group Teams played alternately That 1S the boys played one week and the glrls played the next week Scores and team averages were kept from week to week and posted on the bullet1n board Schedules also were kept posted Scores were kept 1n three sports Although several experxmental basketball games were played and not recorded The sports scored were volleyball aerial tenms and servlce ball The threes were flrst ln the Senlor hlgh glrls group wlth 18 pomts The twos won second Wlth 16 pomts and the ones were last wlth 14 pomts Randolph worked wlth the ones Mr Krng wlth the twos and M1 Hale wlth the threes In the Junlor H1gh School the boys threes won wxth 16 pomts Ones and twos t1ed for second w1th 10 pomts each The glrls two s won wlthout a defeat 1n any game w1th 18 pomts The one s were second w1th 10 pomts and the threes last wlth 8 pomts Total team averages for both boys and glrls Jumor and Senlor H1gh find the two the wlnners wlth a team total of 64 pomts The threes were second wxth 58 pomts and the ones last wlth 46 po1nts Th1s lntramural schedule has been of great help 1n the field of student use of lelsure t1me as well as offermg sportsmanshlp tralnxng and phys1c1al develop ment Camdenton hlgh school edeavors at all tlmes to glve 1ts youngsters a vxell rounded complete program of mental and physlcal development fac1l1t1es Sponsors of these groups guided them and supervised play each day.
