TOMMY TIMBERLAKE Blocking Back Cberaw 9-7 Denmark-Olar 13-6 Camden Military Academy picked up its third victory of the season by spoil- ing Denmark's Homecoming. In the first quarter tailback Stoney Miller passed to Howdy McTeer for a 65 yard touchdown. Later in the game Howdy returned a Denmark punt 79 yards for another score. Captain Chuck” Fulgieri led the de- fensive attack for the Spartans. The services of senior wingback Tom- my Eller were lost due to broken ankle. Griffiths opened the scoring for the Spartans with an 18 yard touchdown run. Senior tailback Stoney Miller accounted for the extra point. In the fourth quar- ter “Wild Bill” Bailey blocked a Cheraw punt and it was recovered in the Cheraw end zone for two points. When the game ended, the ball was on the Spartan's one yard line in the possession of Cheraw. FRANK ROUNTREE End 28

FOOTBALL Charlotte Catholic 3 The defeat of Charlotte Catholic gave the Spartans their second consecutive victory. Fullback Tommy Griffiths accounted for four of the Spartans touchdowns on runs of 13,27,28, and 85 yards. Howard McTeer and Stony Miller brought in the other two touchdowns. Stoney Miller, Howdy McTeer and Tommy Eller are credited with the extra points. Kirt Thomas o n accompanied by George Raynovic led the offense line, while Allan Gardner and Barnett Wil- son starred for the defense, Joe Napolitano received a knee in- jury during the game. JUNIOR TURNER Tailback GEORGE RAYNOVIC Tackle Honea Path 0-19 The Honea Path Stingers handed the Spartans its second defeat of the sea- son. Honea Path had one of the best teams in the state in their class. Honea Path scored their touchdowns in the first three periods of the ball game. Allan Gardner led the defense by re- covering two fumbles.

FOOTBALL Andrews 8-7 Plagued with penalties, the Spartans offensive failed to click and they were held scoreless in the first half. Barnette Wilson fumbled a pass in the end zone and Howdy McTeer recovered for the Spartan's only tally. Late in the fourth quarter, George Raynovic re- covered an Andrews fumble for two points and clinched the victory.
