10 THE MEGUNTICOOK Ccwltovz P. Wood, our principal I think our first actual meeting with Mr. Wood was in the eighth grade and high school was still the far-off dream in the future. We hardly realized that when this kindly man with the twinkle in his eye explained to us the different courses of instruction that we were plan- ning our whole lifetime. But we were to see more of him-yes, hardly a day would go by from the time we were timid Freshmen to the mighty Senior that we wouldn't see Mr. Wood. Per- haps it was in an assembly reminding us gently that our ranks were not quite what they should be, or was it when you wanted that excuse and he gave it to you, believing your sincerity ? Maybe it was only the time he smiled at you as we passed out to lunch that will remain in your memory. We have tried his kind and everlasting patience, but that twinkle never left his eye. We, the class of '47, wish you the best of every- thing always. Frederick Rvlchcwds, our class advisor From the time We entered high school we heard endless talk about Mr. Richards, but our first encounter didn't come until the middle of our Junior year. Since then we have come to know and to like this Navy man as a teach- er, a class advisor, and as a friend. Al- though he keeps strict order in his classes and study halls, we have all found that he has a fine sense of humor. It was rather a startling thing to be ad- visor to such a class as ours, but he proved immediately to be more than capable for the task, giving us help and opinions on all matters. To you, Mr. Richards, we extend our appreciation for all the time and patience you have spent with us. Ethel Oliver, one home room teacher We didn't have classes with Miss Oliver until our Junior year, but ever since we can remember we have run to her with all our problems no matter what they were. Each day in the four years has a special meaning for each of us, but perhaps, in the future, these particular incidents will remind you of the things we, the class of '47, did as a whole. -CHS- As we came to Camden High School, Just four years ago- We all thought then, that time, Would pass by very slow. THE MEGUiNTlCOOK 11 will occupy a good part of our memory whether it be writing down names for talking, coaching the plays and softball, or giving us a stiff English test. We will never forget you, Miss Oliver, and we hope you will always have the best of everything. Milford Payson, the other room teacher At the beginning of our Freshman year we were frightened by the teacher who sent so many out of his classes- namely, Mr. Payson. But we soon found after we had become acquainted with him, that under his stern countenance he really has a wonderful disposition. If it was anything to be managed we just took it to him and he could put it overi' marvelously. The class of ,47 wishes you success always To the rest of the teachers we ex- press our appreciation and thanks for all the help, advice and teaching you have given us. Without any one of you our high school career would not have been complete. - CHS - SENIOR POEM We graduate from Camden High in 1947 We hope we'll live, but if we die we hope we'll go to Heaven.
