BEHIND THE SCENES Working nine to five and sometimes earlier and sometimes later, the peo- ple who work behind the scenes at CHS often do not get the recognition they deserve. The students and teach- ers are always on-stage, as are the principals, but without the people work- ing quietly and with dedi- cation in the backround, things would not run very smoothly. Mr. Cotton, the custod- ian, sees that the building and all of its various funct- ioning parts work when they should. Sometimes, the airconditioning or the heat will go berserk, and Mr. Cotton is always on -the scene to fix things. The cooks work hard to provide tasty and nutrit- ious meals for students and faculty. The home- made rolls and other spec- ialties were popular with students. Bus drivers need nerves of steel to carry students 'to' and from school. They also develop patience, es- pecially when taking stu- dents on field trips. Altemative School teach- ers do not get a lot of ap- preciation from students, but someone has to do the job, and they do theirs well. The afternoon crew make the classrooms presentable after the daily students create havoc. The office personnel keep the school running smoothly and ef- ficiently and the aides keep teachers from drop- ping dead from overwork.
