KALEIDOSCOPE Because we, the Class of 1986, are a class of initiators, we think not about how to keep things the same, but how to bring about change for the better. So we, in the tradition of excellence, decided that it was time to give a name to our yearbook, a name which would encompass the unique spirit of our high school. A kaleidoscope, through a scattering of colored glass, transforms the energy of light into many beautiful symmetrical patterns. So it is that the energy of the staff and the students at CRLS have transformed the dissonance of contrasting programs, interests, cultures, and races into ever-changing but consistently harmonious configurations. We present to you then, the first CRLS Kaleidoscope, a representation of our school, and the Class of 1986.

Physical, mental, and spiritual changes have been marked by the passing of tests, courses, trials, and time. The dreams and ideals that you have developed during this time are a foundation for the future. If what we have given of ourselves has aided you in your search for personal and universal excellence, we want you to know that you also have enriched our lives. This diversity has been an asset rather than a disadvantage. We have come from different schools, racial backgrounds, and cultures to form a unique academic community. Not only do we come to school to learn a variety of skills, but more importantly, we come together to learn from each other. Together we make a completed puzzle; each part needing each other, and each part equally as important as the others. Coming together at CRLS is an experience that we will never forget.
