Nancy Simmons was second and James Moses was third. These talented winners were given prizes at the Ftindge Alumni din- ner. The Graves competition was sponsored by the John W. Wood Scholarship Fund. Mr. Graves was a student at Rindge in the class of 1929. The contest which is named after him is in its 4th year. 61 st Caroline Close Essay Another essay contest was the Caroline Close Essay Con- test, sponsored by the English Department. The winner of the freshman class was Heather Thompson, from the Sophomore class, Amy Clark, and once again from the Junior class, Sarah Wheelock. tShe gradu- ated this year.l The Senior class winner was Lauren Hirshon. The contest has been around for 61 consecutive years, having started in 1923. Register Forum The Register Forum also sponsored a short story contest for the budding writer. The first prize of this contest went to Wil- liam Maxwell '87. His story was entitled, Wicked Sorrows . In second place was Zachary Dub- noff. This brings to a conclusion a summary of the activities which might have passed you by. If you were caught unawares, look out next year. The same contests will be around again, so every- one has a chance. G0 FOR IT! Station To Begin By Hashim W. WRLS will be broadcasting early this year. Maybe as soon as next week. We usually need time to train the students. If you have any requests or announcements, they will be read over the air. Just place them in the WFILS mailbox in the Main Office. Contests will be given on a regular basis. We also have several bands around C.Fl.L.S. and will try to get them here to perform for you live. We have new personalities QDJSJ that have been trained and directed by Ms. Sandra Dickerson. And you can expect guests from WSKS, WBCN, WILD and other various stations. Teachers: We will be having a teachers broadcast during A 81 B lunch. News By Michele A. DeVasto The Key Club is a non-prof- it organization that donates money to various charities. The club is sponsored by the Kiwa- nis International of Cambridge and is a school service. The club was started when some boys got together to donate money to charity. When the girls in the various schools heard about this, they formed the K.B. Club, both are now co-ed. The president of the Key Club is Patrick Fitzgerald and the teacher-advisor is Mr. James O'Connor. The club has a lot of up-coming plans and hopes to be successful at them. The Register Forum will keep you updated on any changes or fu- ture plans.
