We’ve Got The Right Combination Locker 1 — “Hey!” Locker 2 — “Yeah!” Locker 1 — “What kinda kid did you get this year?” Locker 2 — “Some wierdo in orange pajamas and bells on his ankles with a shaved head, except for a pigtail, who’s always singing about some guy named Harry Kristen. He says he works out at the airport — a collector or something.” Locker 1 — “Yeah? Well, that’s better than the kid | got stuck with. His name is Chemical Waste. He sings with a punk rock group called Thermal Nuclear War. He wears a dog collar and spiked belt. He has a safety pin in his cheek and fluores- cent green hair. He keeps his sandwich spread ina “Crest” tube, he eats it with worm crackers. His girlfriend’s name is Waste Dump, she’s in his band too. They slam dance against me when the music comes on.” Locker 2 — “Wow! Did you hear about 499? He’s the purple locker down the hall by the fire alarm.” Locker 1 — “No, What?” Locker 2 — “He’s got this Valley Girl who just moved here from California. She complained to her TIC that she didn’t want 499 because he clashed with her lipstick.” Locker 1 — “Oh Wow! That is like totally awe- some! | am shur! Like Totally barf me out! Gag me with a spoon! Like get in a car and drive it! Ya knew! She’s like a total beastie! Like gross me out totally! | am like freaking out! Ya knew! | am shur! Like no way! Like totally!” Locker 3 — “Hey! I’d be willing to trade with either of you! I’ve got this preppy kid named Jonathan Waldorf Houseworth-Fenton Ill. | could not belive it! DUCKS! He actually hung ducks on the inside of my door. Not little stickujpo ducks that peel right off; we are talking scrimshaw-city here!! He keeps a collection of L.L. Bean Cata- logues for just in case his Blutcher Moccasins or his blue button down oxford shirt should wear out inthe middle of class and he needs to order new ones. And get this, his friends call him “Bink”. Can you believe it? Couldn’‘t you see him years from now sitting behind the huge mahogany desk at his father’s law firm and someone walking in saying. “Hey Bink, are you going down to Marth- a’‘s Vineyard for the weekend? Makes your skin crawl, doesn’t it? His LLL. Bean parka is covered with his Gor- don Setter’s fur. I’m allergic to dogs (a choo!). He’s got little pink and green covers on his books. We won't even discuss the over-abundance of alligators and Whales all over the place.” Locker 4 — “Great! But have you guys seen the little wierdo | got stuck with? She’s a health food freak. She’s got granola coming out of her ears. Her name’s Spring Wheatgerm. (I guess that is opposed to Winter Wheatgerm). Her goal in life is to open a health food ice cream parlor. She only wears natural fibers and she says “esoteric” a lot. She wants to marry her yogi when she graduates.” Locker 2 — “Hey! She’d be a great match for that Harry Kristen guy I’m stuck with.” Locker 1 — “I think I’m going fo try to get trans- ferred to another school. Preferably one that doesn't paint their lockers the color of jelly beans. | mean, can you believe these colors; blue, green, yellow, punole, red, orange. We look like “Chicklets” and “Lifesavers”. It’s de- grading.” Locker 3 — “people don’t realize how hard it is to be a locker.”
