Speech and Drama have an active year The Speech class included a variety of activities such as informa- tive speeches, interpretation of poetry, duet acting, TV commercials, and TV variety show. The school participated in the District One-Acts. Cambridge did “Adaptation” and received a “I” rating and was the top school among 14 participating. Bruce Knight was awarded the best actor award at district competition. Other cast members were: Judy Tomlin, Brenda Knight, Angela Musil, Todd John- son, Jill Davis, Alan Nelson, David Minnick, Paul Lockenour, Nancy Peterson, and Sue Hayes. This was the first time in over 20 years that Cambridge competed in District One-Acts. They went on to state and received a “II” rating. The people who participated in district speech were: Rod Fiene, Louise Koerperich, Angela Musil, Tom Patterson, Kenny Fries, Alan Nelson, and Jimmy Fletcher. Alan Nelson and Bruce Knight received a “I” rating but were not able to compete in state. Brenda Knight also received a “I” rating in informative speaking and received a “II” at state. They were successful in getting the honor roll changed this year. The new system allowed an 85 average or better with no grade below 77. They also sponsored a Christmas Party which included a film and refreshments. Officers for the year included Ron Smith, president; Joan Morgan, vice- president; Ange Musil, secretary; and Ken Gross, treasurer. Mr. Watson, guidance counselor, was the sponsor. 30
