Class History Dear Charlie, I wanna tell ya of a group of kids I personally know and think the world of, also how things were started. In the fall of 1957 the wind blew in 32 mysterious youngsters. Each had a look of being super-special---a new age. CGS teachers were a bit leery at first, but the kindergarten teacher, Miss Druse, broke through the first layer to find that they were just special kids. The new age began with: Ed Newcomb, Sue Ann Walkington, Tom Minnick, Nancy Joseph, Bill Deterding, Colleen Hays, Jerry Stroud, Debra Feeken, Terry Fichtner, Herb Teter, Kathryn Jackson, Susie Brooks, Donna Clevenger, Lyman Seybold, Jean Brown, Kenny Nelson, Debbie Thompson, Patty Witler, Kim Miller, Loretta Howereter, Joan Brandt, Trudy Meyers, Brenda Witte, Judy Stewart, Glenda Brooks, Teresa Carter, Janice Messersmith, Carol Jones, Vickie Flammang, Ronnie Klinkebiel, and Debbie Ver Stratton. Cindy Groshong joined them at mid-term. On to the first grade with Mrs. Arnold. They were joined there by Colleen Hilton and Dennis Witte, but lost Trudy Meyers, Debbie Ver Stratton, Judy Stewart, and Patty Wider. Added to the little cluster during the second year upstairs were: Caralyn Young. Mike Burton, Billy Leathers, Eddie Todd, Adelaide Wahrman, Ronnie Lundberry, and Timmy De Wane. The teacher was Mrs. Moseley. The tremendous association was promoted to the third grade, where Kirs. McLane made musicians out of them, and on to LITTLE WOMEN headed by Mrs. McReynolds. The new age was constantly losing and gaining power. They lost five and gained Jacquetta Hartwell, Linda Randolph, Dana Parker, Gerry Estes, Ken McCully and Cathy Stoddard during their third and fourth years. Due to the fantastically rapid enlargement of their minds, the group was split during the breakthrough of the sixth layer. Miss Schiemann took a set to the third floor, while Mr. Petersen kept the others on the second floor'. Therefore they separately welcomed Bruce Hammon, Dick Potts, and Rhodila Dixson. Ya know Charlie, upon being reunited and entrusted to Mrs. Minnick they missed four and found Randy Larinton and Marcia Schroeder in their room. Jr. High was highlighted with I will not speak without permission. ” Thanks to Mrs, Weber, everyone soon learned how to spell permission! The overseers consisted of Mrs, Weber, Mrs. Phelps, Mr. Mollring, and Mr. Witt. Their basketball team, containing members of the cluster, established a first undefeated season. Class was added to during these years with: Tom Witt, Jeff Mollring, Dallas Wymore, Ben Desmond, Doris Burke, Sam Frandsen, Lynn Farr, and Janet Harris. The lost was but one, so the forces were greatly strengthened. Starting on a new road of possible gain, the Class of '70' welcomed Iris Boyd and Cindy Bruke. With new places to go and experiences to learn from, they eventually accepted the losing of tnree members. Going about their duties the special kids closed the year not having three units, but soon made up one by the appearance of Van Froelich. On through sophomore year the great class passed losing four of their special friends. Into the Junior year they trav- eled performing professionally the MOUSE OF THE MOON and entertaining the Seniors royally in the 'Garden of the Gods.' Such a super year opened and even more super Senior year for the Class of '70' with one more mate missing. A Swed- ish foreign exchange student, Britt Marie Holmqvist, became one more of those very special now grown kias. Again being called on for a production, they fabulously preformed the mysterious THREE NEEDLES IN A HAYSTACK. The Juniors rightously bade farewell on a 'Lost Safari'. Asking God to Grant us the knowledge to know what is right and the courage enough to do it. the Class of '70', consisting of: Ed Newcomb, Sue Ann Walkington, Tom Minnick, Nancy Joseph, Bill Deterding, Colleen Hilton, Colleen Hays, Terry Fichtner, Debra Feeken, Herb Teter, Kathryn Jackson, Dennis Witte, Susie Brooks, Lyman Seybold, Jean Brown, Ken Nelson, Deb Thompson, Loretta Howereter, Brenda Witte, Cindy Groshong, Ben Desmond, 6 lend a Brook, Teresa Carter, Janice Messersmith, Carol Jones, Ade- laide Frandsen, Dana Parker, Ken McCully, Bruce Hammon, Doris Burke, Jeff Mollring, Dallas Wymore, Iris Boyd, Van Froelich, Janet Harris, and Britt Marie Holmqvist, followed the frist rough road of life. Now they look to the future in search of another challenge. Gee, Charlie, it's been nice knowing ya, but ya understand I am one of those super-special kids that brought in the New-age. 17 Bye, Lucy
