CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 195G, forty-one super-prodigies began their education in the super-school of CCS This generation of super-people consisted of Sheryl Petersen, Donnie Kinder, Barbara Deterding, Jerry Colson, Shirley Frandsen, Mike Langley, Bill Shirley, Barbara Witte, Alan Kinkebiel, Danny White, Dorothy Vaughn, Carolyn Kay Potts, Ricky Weise, Cathy Potter, Mickey Flammang, Joe Sayer, Phyllis Phillips, Jim Miller, Toni Minnick, Rhodila Dixson, Randy Ohlson, Gloria Mac- Intyre, Wiley Wagner, Lorraine Anderson, Lynn Young, Jerry Zabel, John Ommert, Dow Newcomb, Dale Brown, Gerry Taylor, Cathy Stoddard, Chuck Shoemaker, Doug Kubik, Corky Burton, Pamela Burton, Joey Beardmore, and Mary Avery. All were endowed with powers not bestowed on ordinary people, and in their first year of train- ing, they were taught to conserve their powqjs by taking naps. After passing sandbox and other difficult subjects, the class then went on to the first grade of intensive training under Mrs. Arnold. Here the group gained Butch Pearse, and they continued to improve their powers. At the end of the year, three more had been dropped and the great class continued onward. The super-class began a second year of intensive training under Mrs. Mosely, who enriched their minds with the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder. Because of their fantastic progress, the class was promoted to third grade, where Toni Lunberry, Jeff Frack, and Mike Simon joined the ranks, making up for the three lost from the year before. Here Mrs. McLane taught the super-children, and they broadened their cultural experiences by learning to play Flutaphones and reading the HAPPY HOLL1STERS. The class was still advancing, and went on to the fourth grade, when Kirk Yentes joined the group. Here Mrs. McReynolds told the class about spotted babies and pink elephants. Of course, the super-students were a little dubious on receiving this information. The class went on to continue their super-education with Miss Schiemann in the fifth grade. Sandra McCully, Donnie McDowell, and Steve Wing joined the group as several others left. Here some members of the class decided to exercise their musical super-talents by joining the band. The group was next handed over to Mrs. Minnick for a sixth year of training. Additions to the class were George Parsons, Lois Balcom, Monica Baker, Barbara Marchand, and Martha Dillsaver. Joining the class in their Jr. High years were Vicki Benedick, Bob Barnes, John and Don Dewey, and Nancy Carbaugh. Here they were instructed by Mr. Bosch, Mrs. Weber, and Mrs. Phelps. They were prepared to enter the even tougher CHS, where they would undergo four years of final training. During the first year of grueling training, Johnny Fellers and Connie Noltie joined the class, as it struggled to constantly improve its powers. In their Sophomore year, Ruth Boyd was added as the class united to produce the stupendous Penny Arcade, which was a huge success. The Junior year saw several triumphs which included the fabulous class play, AMAZING GRACIE, and a wonderful prom. Using their extraordinary powers, they transformed the gym into a PARADISE ISLE. The final and most spectacular stage in their training was their Senior year. Again they combined their thespian talents to put on a play entitled THE UNGUIDED MISS. They also made a trip to Lincoln for the State Basketball Tourney. They were royally entertained by the juniors in a GARDEN OF THE GODS, and finished thirteen years of toil and effort. With all their super powers and abilities thus developed, the class was freed to go forth and conquer the world.
