Senior Class Will WE THE SENIORS OF 1959 DO HEREBY BEQUEATH: Eldon Allen - My white convertible to Donnie Proud. He needs it! Loyeen Nicholson - My blonde hair to anyone who wants to take the time to keep it that way. Kenny Hilton - My '52 Ford to Retha Cherry—she has it all the time anyway. Joann Dugger - My height to Gary Estergard. I need some company down here! Erich Knehans - My short hair to Richard Haith. He needs all he can get! Christine Berres - My quiet ways to Catherine Sayer. Richard Tellus - My black leather jacket and pipes to Winton Newcomb. LaVonne Brown - My natural curly hair to Alice Foster. Dale Ellis - Mousel's old house on the hill to Marvin Banzhaf. Anything found is purely coincidental. Janice McQuiety - My ability to get a diamond to LaVonne Brown. Kenny Colson - My trips to Holbrook to anyone who will come with me. Shirley Bassford - My Homecoming crown to some lucky junior girl. Lyndal Moseley - My dual exhaust system to Hap Potter. Senior Class History The year 1947 was a great year for the class of 1959. It was then that we reported to Mrs. Poush as innocent little first graders. Seven of us little cherubs included Eldon Allen, Shirley Bassford, Christine Berres, Glenn Dorsey, Lyndal Moseley, and Loyeen Nicholson. The follow- ing year LaVonne Brown joined our group. Although we grew in stature and intelligence the next few years we failed to grow in number. Our advancement to junior high helped, however, when we increased our enrollment by three—Kenny Hilton, Joann Dugger, and Kenny Colson. We proceeded to our last year of grade school and from there we graduated to high school. Freshman days finally arrived to find us green but willing freshmen sneaking into the halls of C. H. S. Dismay came fast, though, when the seniors found us and properly initiated us. Initiation consisted of more scares than actual happenings, but rumors tell that one of us ate a poor, defenseless minnow. Janice Ozarks McQuiety was the new student to find out the ways of high school. At the beginning of our sophomore year our number was increased by Dick Tellus. This year we started saving money for the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. The amount in our treasury was increased by a successful penny arcade. Just goes to show—pennies do add up. Then came our junior year and our official title as Upperclassmen. Our aggregate was increased to the present number by Erich The Blusher Knehans. We presented the play, The Henpecked Hero in the fall, and in January our long awaited class rings arrived. May rolled around to our banquet and prom, 'Catch A Falling Star, which turned out better than expected —even to the great surprise and delight of the seniors. All too soon, our senior year arrived and we all realized that this year would hold many lasts for us—football, basketball, band, pep club, banquets, etc. Spectacular events were graduation pictures, our class play, sneak day, and last but not least--Commencement. C. H. S. has given us many treasured memories, and we leave it by having obtained the distinction of being the smallest graduating class in over a quarter of a century.
