They included: Stan Druse, James Rdipath, Janet Johnson, Rolland Fichtner, and Ed Kester, who was with us only that year. Mrs. Poush traveled with us through the first year of our journey and then turned us over to Mrs. Heiselman for our second year. It was there that we added Carole Kubik and Donna Phillips. Mrs. Roberts was our teacher for the third year. We then went on to the fourth where we added Marilyn Beals, Norris Smith, Stanley Sexton, Jerry Sayer, and John Minnick, with Mrs. McReynolds as teacher for that year. We then moved on to the fifth grade where Sharon Brittain joined us and Mrs. Bose was our teacher. Now came the big step up into junior high and into the sixth grade where we picked up Roberta Wright. Mr. Stephenson, Miss Weakley, and Mr. Kempkis were our teachers. We moved on to the seventh grade where Ronnie Tomlin joined us. Our teachers for that year were Mr. Lines and Mrs. Kenneman. We came to our final yea in grade school where we added Marcia Musil. Our teachers were Mr. Mitchell and Mrs. Dobbie. We finally arrived at our first year of high school. The main events were the mixer, which made us full-blooded high school students, and our very first high school football banquet. We gained Mike Simon, Ed Kester, Larry Burke, Barbara Sams, and Patty Burton. We traveled on to our sophomore year where we added to our number Arnold Johnson. In our big year, the junior year, we gave our play, To Blush Unseen , with Mr. Sawyer as our director. We gave Gay Paree as our Junior-Senior Banquet theme. At last we are in our final year, and it ap- pears that we have arrived too soon. Our class colors are orchid and silver and our flower is the orchid. Through the year we attended our last school events: our class play, You Can’t Take It With You , and the lovely banquet the juniors gave us (its theme was Carousel), sneak day , and all the preparations that go with graduation- the end of our cruise. We hope the future is as pleasant as the past. 5 RONNIE TOMLIN MARCIA MUSE. May 6, 1967 Dear Rolland After I heard about Shirley and you getting married and your success in the Gas Co., I'm inclined to believe that your father-in-law gave you some assistance. Have you heard that Patty and Bob have made a match and he is a successful engineer. I ran into Arnold Johnson the other day and found he is head of Einstein laboratories and is disproving Einstein’s theory. I read one of Carol Kubik's articles in the Los Angeles Times. As you know she is the head news reporter. 1 hear that Marcia is head nurse in Druse’s Cure-All Clinic and is also the head of the Druse household. I have taken up dancing in the Arthur Murray studios. Guess who my instructor is? Donna Phillips. I received a letter from Barbara Sams and she is living on a horse ranch in Illinois. 1 suppose you know that Jerry Sayer is running for President on the Democratic ticket. I read in the paper where Stan Sexton broke the world’s record in Motorcycle racing. Roberta Wright is private secretary to Tab Hunter and is quite busy handling his fan mail. This all for now as it is time for George’s T.V. show. Write and tell me about the rest of the class. 'Bye for now Janet May 10, 1967 Cambridge, Nebr. Dear Janet 1 was certainly glad to receive your letter and learn what some of the kids from good old CHS are doing. Marilyn and Ed got married. Marilyn is making a fine home for Ed, who seems to be doing quite well as a veterinarian. Sharon is content as a preacher’s wife raising a lit- tle Moore. Larry Burke is doing quite well for himself. He now has a 3,000 acre farm at Orafino. Stan Druse was visiting me last weekend. He has been touring the world and has just graduated from Oxford University at England. He intends to go on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He intends to go on to the Massachusetts In- stitute of Technology. I read in a sports magazine that John Minnick just made All- Pro for the Los Angeles Rams. I saw James Ridpath yesterday. He is now head salesman in used cars at Beardmore's. Evelyn and Ronnie are married now and, with the super- intendent’s influence, is now principal at good old CHS. Did you know that the Ford Company was destroyed by the head chemical engineer? Yes, it seems as if Mike Simon made some slight mistake. Norris Smith seems to have lost his talent. He is now president of the Lonely Hearts Club. I hope 1 hear from you again. See you at the Class Reunion in June. Rolland CLASSES FIRST ROW: M. Newcomb, B. Phelps, J. Avery, S. Stanton, L. Rogers, M. Smith, K. Taylor, V. Johnson, A. Randolph. SECOND ROW: E. Colson, D.
