L. Maiorettes The nine maiorettes under the leadership of Mr. Eubanks and Deborah Carpenter, head major- W ette, contributed much to the success of the Cam- bridge High School Marching Band. The girls had worked out many routines and spent long hours in hard practice. As a result of this practice their skill came to life in football half-time shows as well as in pep rallies and parades. The maiorettes attended the Smith Waldridge Camp for Maiorettes where they walked off with a first place rating. This group has set a high standard of achievement which will challenge the lines of future years. THE MARCHING BAND The cadence of drums can be heard beginning on the first day of August and, from that day until the end of football season, the sound of the Marching Band can be heard for two hours every day as the group prepares its half-time shows. Highlights of this year were the traditional Homecoming Blue Show , which was dedicated to former director, Donald Nixon, and the Patriotic Show, I Speak for Democracy , which brought the large crowd to its feet with the finale of fireworks and one hundred and fifty American flags. In addition to football games, the band marched in many parades in Cambridge and the surround- ing area. On Armistice Day, the group presented An Evening with the Bobcat Marching Band , featur- ing highlights from the year's half-time shows. This performance was also accorded a standing ovation by the large crowd in attendance. The director, Mr. Ray Eubanks, deserves our commendation and praise for the time and effort which he has expended in his first year at Cambridge High School.

Concert Band The Concert Band is composed of all students in grades ten to twelve who desire to play an instrument. This one hundred and thirty piece group performed at the Winter Concert under the internationally known former director of the Ohio State University Band, Mr. Jack O. Evans. It is composed of eighty players in grades nine to twelve, who are selected by Mr. Eubanks on the basis of playing audi- tions held at various times during the year.
