THE MARCHING BAND The cadence of drums can be heard beginning on the first day of August and, from that day until the end of football season, the sound of the Marching Band can be heard for two hours every day as the group prepares its half-time shows. Highlights of this year were the traditional Homecoming Blue Show , which was dedicated to former director, Donald Nixon, and the Patriotic Show, I Speak for Democracy , which brought the large crowd to its feet with the finale of fireworks and one hundred and fifty American flags. In addition to football games, the band marched in many parades in Cambridge and the surround- ing area. On Armistice Day, the group presented An Evening with the Bobcat Marching Band , featur- ing highlights from the year's half-time shows. This performance was also accorded a standing ovation by the large crowd in attendance. The director, Mr. Ray Eubanks, deserves our commendation and praise for the time and effort which he has expended in his first year at Cambridge High School.
