Studeat (fauenautent Under the advisement of Mr. Munden and the leadership of capable officers, the 86-87 Student Council ran the school year smoothly. We sponsored several successful dances, planned such events as Homecoming and Tip- Off, and were challenged with solving the pro- blem of having our dance privileges taken away and reducing the amount of tardies school wide. All in all, we learned from this year while having a great time. Student Body officers — Left to Right Ric Deweese. Sgt at Arms. Kim Berry, Secretary; Dawn Elkmgton. We hope friends will keep in touch, As the years past us by, Although it hurts inside, We'll try not to cry. We think of kindergarten, And our first day, Now we’ve reached the end, We are going away. How do you say good-by, To friends who mean so much? Will there be the time, To sincerely keep in touch? You’ll always have the memories, Of your schools years from day one, Don’t think of as school ending, Think a new life has begun! Dee Porter, Betty Morris, Dawn Elkington, Tami Crockett, Darla Boehm, Karen Howland, Mary Barinaga We had a very successful volleyball season this year. We finished long pin league play as undefeated champions. Our outstanding victory over Greenleaf at the District tournament has got to be a highlight of our great season. We were a team that took charge, and con- trolled the game completely. Our hard work, dedication, and teamwork enabl- ed us to overcome our inexperience; and prove, once again, that this was the year of the Cambridge Lady Bulldogs! Cinamon Green Alleyoopll Aside from memories of winning games with just two girls left on the court, of publishing an ar- ticle — Ten New Ways to Run the Stairs, and of creating new interpretations of the word mediocre, the J.V. Girls' Basketball Team has left me with impression even more heartful. I remember the dedication of athletes, not always feeling one hundred percent well, whio have their all (and left some of it on the floor), not wanting to let the team down; athletes who battled mistakes with increased determination rather than with a face-in-hand attitude; athletes who come off the court champions — whether in defeat or in vic- tory. Mary, Glenda, Kim, Coach Hill The Winter Homecoming took place on January 10th, 1987, during half time of the varsity boys' basketball game against Council. Jenny Phelps was crowned Queen and Bill Dekker was named Mr. Basketball. A dance followed after the game The disc jockeys were William Green and Steve Bechard. Under the leadership of our coach, Mr. Werts, the boys' Jr. Varsity basketball team learned about dedication and the game of basketball this season. We learned the impor- tance of working together as a team, and when we did, we were successful. Although, our record doesn't show it, we all improved and had an enjoyable season. In the tournament, they lost to the eventual District Champion Garden Valley, annihilated Midvale and then lost a heartbreaker to Meadows Valley With 9 ot 10 players returning next year, the Bulldogs are looking ahead to a successful season The 1986-87 basketball season was a year of growth, excitement and hard work. Opponents did not like to visit” the Bulldogs’ home court, as throughout the season the Bulldogs either beat, or played tough against, their opponents at home. y - (above left) Debbie and Stoney show off their muscle. The Cambridge H.S. Band has been extremely busy this year with many ball games, concerts, and festivals The band did not play a traditional Christmas Concert this year, but made up for it with a awesome “pop concert in February. The band purchased new T-shirts this year with a bulldog logo Even though the band was made up of many underclassmen, they developed a good sound. We believe the band will continue to support the school and community in a very favorable fashion 37 s4 uukz£ SCa Left to Right, Top to Bottom Mrs Lunsford. Advisor. Betty Morris. Diane Horn.
