f00f6'f7ll Q The advent of the football season at Cambndge Central School saw the Ind1ans return to eleven man football for the flrst tlme 1n twenty years Coach Fuller assrsted by Nlck N1chols had qulte a task on hrs hands shaplng up the boys for thelr f1rst encounter rn the Saratoga County League When the fmal whlstle blew agamst Ballston ln the opener 1t was qulte apparent that the boys of Carnbrldge Central School were to be reckoned wlth for the com1ng season The Ind1ans had come from beh1nd to top Ballston 7 6 The determrnatlon shown by the team rn this game was a predornxnate characterlstrc shown throughout the rest of the season The season fxnale a resoundlng vrctory over Salem 396 gave the Ind1ans an over all record of four w1ns and two losses good enough for second place 1n the strong Saratoga County League The losses susta1ned were by one touchdown and the vlctors went on to share Pfyffw I Ze - 5 , the co champronshxp of the league V 7 Throughout the season team play was the keynote It was not 'K' D easy to p1ck out 1nd1v1dual stars However we were extremely proud of our sen1ors Don Record who ran lxke a deer and passed lrke a pro was outstandmg throughout the season Iohn Pemrlck the slgnal caller showed great P0156 ln all games and kept the Ind1ans real calm 1n the close ones Bob Shay fullback h1t the enemys l1ne l1ke a mrnrature tank never fa1l1ng to gaxn yardage D1ck Grem1nger who xmproved steadrly at hrs center pos1t1on as the season wore on put forth a great defensrve game 1n every encounter Erme Trmkle and Ed Kyer saw l1m1ted act1on on the l1ne nevertheless wh11e 1n the game they were there all the way on every play All 1n all we feel It was a very successful return for eleven man football to Cambridge Central School We know that the crowds attend 1ng the game were well sat1sf1ed and so we thank them for then sup port and offer equal thanks to our cheerleaders our coaches the team and espec1a1ly our departmg semors I l . . . .
