Under the direction of Miss Brown and Mr. Solomon, college hoard classes were again held for juniors who planned to take the college hoard test. Administration of the Scholastic Aptitude Test was first conducted at Central in December of this year. E GLISH The purposes of our language are communication and self-expression. Students need guidance and assist- ance in order to discuss and present their ideas and opinions. Thus the faculty of our English department strove to help each student develop his speaking and writing potentials. Included in the general curriculum were grammar, spelling, literature, composition, and li- brary science. Music and art appreciation classes, as well as advanced English Composition were added fea- tures for college-bound seniors. Whether a graduate from C.C.H.S. would go on to college or enter the busi- ness world, he would be well versed in the comrnuni- cative arts. --v-f'. '- L 5 .
